Production Line Leader - Retail Cheese
In a key line role, you will assume overall responsibility for the retail cutting and packing lines to deliver best in class standards and performance in efficiency, output, quality and safety to satisfy and exceed customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Duties will include:
* Ensuring the quality on the line is optimised, both in terms of product quality and also line hygiene
* Ensure all quality checks are completed and any relevant action taken in line with these results
* Running the line and associated machinery to maximise throughput and achieve set production plans and target performance levels
* Manage the operators in the room to ensure good operational performance and organisation is achieved
* Maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe line / surrounding work area
* Organising the labour to run the line and training employees
* Monitoring and controlling waste of all materials
* Working directly with engineering to reduce downtime and optimise efficiency
* Completing daily downtime records and all documentation
* Working with despatch to schedule production to meet customer needs
* Carrying out compositional testing
* Report daily performance figures to the shift manager.
* Flexible to work various hours and shift patterns, including early starts and weekends as required.
* Any other duties as required.
Specific Experience & Education
Required:
* You will have a minimum of 3 years' relevant Food manufacturing experience.
* You will have a successful track record of developing a lean culture and delivering process improvements.
* You will have a strong technical skill set and have a track record of delivery against quality / food safety requirements,
* You will have strong communication skills and be able to clearly demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate to a range of internal and external stakeholders
Desirable:
* H&S responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.
* Degree or equivalent in food or engineering related discipline
