HGV Technician Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Diagnose and repair faults and malfunctions in HGVs, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, and other components. Carry out scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and safety. Conduct efficient and thorough inspections and tests of HGVs to identify any potential safety concerns. Complete accurate and detailed service reports, including parts used, repairs made, and work performed. Collaborate with the parts department to order necessary parts and ensure their timely availability. Adhere to all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area. Stay updated on the latest industry trends and advancements in HGV technology through continued learning and professional development. Requirements: Proven experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar role. Excellent knowledge of HGV systems, components, and how they operate. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in HGVs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. High attention to detail and ability to work with precision. Effective time management and organizational skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
