We are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary team.
Community mental health services are undergoing a national restructuring, emphasizing intervention delivery, with Occupational Therapy identified as a key component. We have an established team of OTs and are expanding to provide more group and individual interventions to our service users.
The role includes completing OT assessments and interventions. These may be carried out by the successful candidate or supported by OT apprentices, support workers, or junior team members under supervision.
We are increasing our group work offerings, supporting complex service users in developing daily living skills and others in managing their mental health recovery.
Occupational therapy is a core part of our multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will work alongside various professionals and participate in delivering core team functions such as dialog + and group interventions.
You will support the development of the therapeutic offer within MHT+ and collaborate closely with therapy colleagues, the interdisciplinary team, and AHP leadership.
The candidate must hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for business purposes (unless disabled as per the Equality Act 2010).
* Provide high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions, both group and individual, in line with occupational therapy pathways.
* Communicate effectively with service users, carers, the multidisciplinary team, and external agencies when appropriate.
* Contribute to the functioning of the team.
* Supervise and mentor junior occupational therapists, apprentices, and support workers.
* Provide occupational therapy student placements.
* Contribute to service development and audits.
* Assume the role of lead professional as appropriate.
