Hays Senior Finance are supporting a well-established FMCG business in the Worcestershire area with the recruitment of a Financial Controller on a permanent basis. Our client is a leading supplier of innovative and high-quality food products to major retailers and customers across the UK and internationally.
Your new role
As Financial Controller, you will lead the finance function and provide robust financial oversight, drive process improvements and support strategic decision-making across the business.
Key duties:
1. Manage the finance team, ensuring a high performance culture
2. Weekly and monthly operational reporting and KPI development
3. Oversee year-end audit and statutory accounts filing
4. Maintain strong financial controls, identifying and implementing improvements
5. Lead on budgeting, forecasting and long-term business planning
6. Provide insight and analysis to key stakeholders to drivemercial decision-making
7. Ad hoc project work as required
What you'll need to succeed
8. Qualified Accountant (ACA preferred but ACCA/CIMA considered)
9. Strong post-qualification experience in a similar leadership role (Financial Controller or equivalent)
10. FMCG/manufacturing background
11. Track record in developing and delivering effective business partnering
12. Curious mindset with the ability to implement change in a fast-paced environment
13. Excellent leadership skills with experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams
14. Highly proficient with ERP systems (SAP highly advantageous)
