Position Summary An exciting opportunity to join a team of highly skilled engineers developing cutting-edge power components and solutions. The Principal Applications Engineer will play a critical role in designing advanced controllers, collaborating with customers, and supporting the transition of designs into full-scale production. This position offers the chance to influence next-generation power systems while engaging with global teams and leading customers. Key Responsibilities Partner with customers to understand requirements, secure new business, and transition designs into mass production. Collaborate with engineering teams to develop application notes, reference designs, and technical documentation for new products and solutions. Provide training and technical guidance to field application teams, enabling effective customer support and solution presentations. Conduct system-level validation and testing of new products, ensuring performance to specifications and identifying opportunities for improvement. Manage the creation of product support tools, including evaluation boards, models, and datasheets, coordinating releases with product launches. Contribute to product roadmap discussions, recommending features and functionality aligned with next-generation system needs. Investigate new markets and applications, document industry requirements, and develop strategies to address customer-specific variations. Preferred Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required; advanced degree preferred. 10 years of experience in power electronics design and/or applications engineering. Proven ability to engage with Tier 1 customers, secure design wins, and troubleshoot complex systems. Strong leadership skills with experience managing projects and cross-functional collaboration. Proficiency with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and EMI test systems. Hands-on experience with power system design using modern power components. Expertise in troubleshooting complex power systems. Familiarity with simulation and design tools (e.g., PSpice, SIMetrix/Simplis, MATLAB, Mathcad, Excel).
