What You'll Be DoingAs Finance Officer, you will:
1. Support the Finance Business Partner and Business Manager with all aspects of school finance and resource management.
2. Maintain accurate financialernance and ensure all financial transactions are up to date andpliant with the Financial Management Handbook.
3. Process invoices, orders and financial documentation with accuracy, speed and attention to detail.
4. Assist with cashflow management, bank reconciliations, VAT claims, and monthly financial reporting.
5. Provide financial training and support to staff with budget responsibilities.
6. Contribute to internal and external audit preparation.
7. Promote Best Value principles in purchasing and financial decision‑making.
8. Work collaboratively as part of the wider Business Support Team, supporting HR and administrative duties when required.
What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who brings:Essential Qualifications & Experience
9. A degree (or equivalent experience) andmitment to ongoing professional development.
10. At least two years of finance experience, ideally in a school setting.
11. Strong knowledge of IT systems and the ability to produce spreadsheets, reports and financial documentation.
12. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines under pressure.
13. A problem‑solving mindset and the ability to provide sound financial solutions.
14. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
Desirable
15. Experience using PS Financials.
16. Working towards a professional accountancy qualification.
17. Experience managing financial and administrative systems.
