Job Overview
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver painting schedule across the prison on internal and external areas across an agreed period
Deliver planned and reactive maintenance, when requested, across prison fabric and building services assets.
Complete PPM and helpdesk tasks in line with contract requirements and SHE standards.
Ensure full compliance with health & safety, permit‑to‑work, statutory, and site‑specific regulations.
Liaise with engineers and subcontractors, maintaining a strong understanding of site systems and services.
Accurately complete all maintenance documentation and support 24/7 site operations via shift rota and call‑out.
Required Qualifications: applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.
1. A recognised Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in painting or building services or multi‑skilled maintenance (e.g. NVQ Level 3, C&G/BTEC, HVAC, Gas, F‑Gas, 18th Edition).
2. Proven experience providing painting & decorating and/or general maintenance services within a large, complex environment.
3. Practical knowledge across building services disciplines including heating, ventilation, electrical distribution, and public health systems.
4. Basic to intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
5. A proactive, flexible team player with strong communication skills, high integrity, and a “can‑do” attitude.

Continuous UK residency for the past 3 years, with limited overseas travel.
Successful completion of Enhanced DBS, 5‑year referencing, and CTC vetting.
