Facilities Coordinator – Basildon, Essex – FM Service Provider
Salary: £30,000 per annum
We are offering an exciting opportunity to join a Facilities Management service provider based in Basildon, Essex.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in Facilities Management as a Facilities Coordinator. In return, the company offers a competitive salary, further training, and the chance to work with a great team.
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 08:00 am to 5:00 pm (Full-time in the office). The role may require staying late to assist with events.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Support the Head of Facilities and carry out rota duties to ensure coverage during absences or peak times.
2. Maintain knowledge of building management systems, security, and fire alarm systems.
3. Open and close the RCPath office according to procedures.
4. Conduct facilities checks to ensure functionality, cleanliness, and safety.
5. Identify, report, and record maintenance or safety issues promptly.
6. Perform minor installations and maintenance within your skills and agreed procedures.
7. Assist Security with managing the access control system, including issuing and cancelling access cards and generating usage reports.
8. Liaise with third-party contractors (e.g., plumbers, electricians) to ensure maintenance complies with statutory and company requirements, coordinating access and scheduling.
9. Keep records of maintenance work to ensure equipment servicing is up to date.
10. Manage site requests such as property maintenance and cleaning.
11. Assist with Health, Safety & Environment procedures, including audits.
12. Participate in the Emergency Response Team during incidents.
13. Handle incoming and outgoing post, including franking and distribution.
14. Conduct fire evacuation training for new staff and refresher sessions as needed.
15. Organise collection of confidential shredding waste.
16. Perform general office administration duties, including printing.
17. Monitor stocks of supplies and stationery, and place orders with approved suppliers following purchasing procedures.
Requirements
1. Experience supporting AV for events, conferences, and meetings.
2. Proficiency with advanced audio-visual equipment.
3. AV-specific qualifications such as Certified Technology Specialist (CTS).
4. Experience with web streaming services and online conferencing platforms.
5. Experience supporting facilities services.
6. Knowledge of maintaining technical equipment related to BMS, M&E, and general building services.
7. Experience supervising contractors and service providers.
8. IT skills, including managing Windows-based PCs and Mac equipment, and familiarity with digital platforms like MS Teams and Zoom.
9. Knowledge of health & safety and fire evacuation procedures.
