Housing Officer We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Housing Officer to join a local government housing management team. The role is based across office and patch locations within the Ashfield district of Nottinghamshire. Key Details: Full-time: 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday) Duration: 5 months Office and patch-based role (no remote working) Essential car user - travel within district required Role Overview: Deliver a high-quality tenancy and estate management service across the district Manage tenancy-related matters and ensure compliance with tenancy agreements Investigate and resolve reports of anti-social behaviour and tenancy breaches Carry out estate inspections and property visits to maintain high standards Handle tenancy changes including successions, assignments and joint tenancies Work closely with internal teams and external agencies to support tenants Provide advice, support and enforcement where necessary to sustain tenancies Represent the organisation at court hearings, tenant meetings and partner forums Maintain accurate case records and documentation What We're Looking For: Proven experience working in social housing or a similar housing management role Strong knowledge of housing legislation and best practice Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Confident in handling complex and sensitive cases Organised and able to manage a varied caseload independently Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and database systems Ability to build effective partnerships with residents and external agencies Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Desirable: Experience presenting cases in court Understanding of community engagement and resident consultation methods Additional Information: Role may involve occasional evening meetings Lone working and estate visits required
