Description
The job itself
Hi! I'm a happy, smiley 4-year-old boy with lots of energy and a big love for exploring. I'm looking for someone special to join my amazing care team and help me have fun, stay safe, and keep learning every day.
I'm very easy to get along with, and sometimes I like playing on my own. I can be super affectionate with grown-ups I know well, and I love to giggle and be cheeky! I'm great at moving around indoors and love discovering new things. Climbing, pushing my soft play boxes, and playing with anything that spins or lights up are some of my favorite activities. I'm also really good at pressing buttons to make things work - that makes me so excited!
Even though I'm very independent, I have some complex needs that mean I need someone with me all the time. My parents are amazing and will make sure you get all the training you need to support me. You'll help me with things like eating, dressing, and changing nappies because I need help with all my personal care. I can't tell you what I want or how I feel with words, so you'll learn how to understand me in other ways.
Sometimes I find noisy or busy places hard, and I don't like wearing hats or gloves. I also have sensory aversions, so I don't like certain textures or touching food with my hands. But don't worry - my family will guide you so you know exactly how to help me feel comfortable.
When we go outside, I might need help getting back up if I fall because I use surfaces to help me move indoors and can't walk long distances. But I love adventures and exploring new places with someone who's patient and caring.
What You'll Do
1. Keep me safe and happy at home and in the community.
2. Help me play, learn, and explore in ways that suit me.
3. Support me when I feel upset or need sensory feedback.
4. Assist with all aspects of personal care.
5. Join me on trips and activities that make me smile!
About You
6. Kind, patient, and understanding.
7. Ready to learn about my needs and how to support me.
8. Flexible and committed to helping me thrive.
9. Experience with children with additional needs is great, but my family will give you all the training you need.
Hours
4 hours per week (we'll agree on days and times together).
If you'd love to be part of my world and help me grow, we'd love to hear from you!
