The Role
We are on the lookout for a qualified and experienced Social Worker who is passionate, dedicated, and values the vital role of foster parents. In this collaborative position, you will:
* Work closely with foster parents to ensure meaningful supervision of placements.
* Engage in quality assurance and training for both prospective and current foster parents.
* Recruit, train, and supervise Foster Parents while promoting the welfare of children placed with us.
This role requires a confident driver with a full driving license, as travel across the North West is essential.
Requirements
* Hold a Social Work England qualification in Social Work or equivalent, and be registered with Social Work England.
* Experience in fostering is essential.
* Comprehensive knowledge of fostering regulations, child care law, and safeguarding legislation.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Commitment to high-quality practice, including occasional work after 5 PM and on weekends.
* Participation in an Out of Hours rota for the Northwest region (phone contact/sign posting).
* Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases/systems.
Your Responsibilities
* Provide direct support to foster parents with a manageable caseload for effective supervision.
* Conduct regular supervision sessions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
* Collaborate with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to facilitate participation in meetings and decision-making.
* Be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by Orange Grove Fostercare).
