Overview
Applications are invited for a NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Clinical Radiology (Department of Radiology) or Paediatrics (Department of Paediatrics) or Haematology (Department of Haematology). This post has been awarded with the research theme 'Digital'. The appointee will be expected to develop a research programme in that theme area. Based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, this post offers an opportunity to undertake high quality research within an outstanding academic and clinical environment. Applicants should be medically qualified, have full GMC registration, and hold a current National Training Number NTN/NTN(A) in Clinical Radiology or Paediatrics or Haematology. If a number is not held, candidates will need to clinically benchmark to be able to take up the post. Clinical benchmarking can be achieved through application for specialty training within the national recruitment window where the minimal appointable score must be achieved.
You are required to hold or have submitted a PhD/DPhil/MD at the time of your application and be of the standing required for an appropriate honorary contract of service with the NHS LETB (specialist trainee/LETB). Candidates who have not submitted their PhD/MD at the time of application will not be considered. This is a fixed term appointment for a maximum of 4 years or until you obtain CCT (subject to extensions that you apply for and are granted by NIHR, which can be for a maximum of 24 months).
Responsibilities
* Develop a research programme in the Digital theme.
* Engage in research activity within the Cambridge Biomedical Campus environment, collaborating across Clinical Radiology, Paediatrics, or Haematology as applicable.
* Contribute to teaching and clinical supervision as appropriate for an NIHR Clinical Lecturer.
* Ensure eligibility and manage contractual arrangements through the integrated appointment with the University and NHS Trust/Body (Honorary Clinical Contract).
Qualifications & Requirements
* Medically qualified with full GMC registration and Licence to Practice; Medical Defence Cover for the duration of appointment.
* Current NTN/NTN(A) in Clinical Radiology or Paediatrics or Haematology, or be able to bench-mark clinically via NHS national recruitment.
* Hold or have submitted a PhD/DPhil/MD at the time of application; be of the standing required for an honorary contract with NHS LETB.
* Applicants with PhD/MD not submitted at the time of application will not be considered.
Contract & Compensation
* Fixed term appointment for up to 4 years or until CCT is obtained, subject to NIHR extensions up to 24 months.
* Salary scales: StR £44,159pa – £76,280pa; Nodal £49,909pa – £70,425pa (ST3 and above).
* Integrated appointment between the University and NHS Trust/Body; you will also be issued with an Honorary Clinical Consultant Contract by the NHS Trust/Body. If the NHS contract is terminated, University employment will also terminate, and vice versa.
