Job Description
Due to continued expansion, we are seeking an Accountant to join our finance team. The role involves preparing and maintaining monthly management accounts, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and assisting with Group reporting to head office monthly. Candidates should have a sound working knowledge of accounting standards and be able to apply them effectively.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
* Verify the accuracy of financial system data and correct discrepancies with the financial controller's approval
* Maintain accurate control account information
* Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Complete ad hoc financial tasks as directed by the financial controller
* Contribute to internal financial reporting
* Manage the Purchase Ledger team
* Review weekly supplier bank payments
* Conduct cost and variation analysis
* Support budgeting and forecasting activities
* Identify and evaluate cost reduction opportunities
* Assist with Group reporting
* Support the external audit process
* Help develop systems, processes, and procedures within the business
Skills and Experience
Essential
* Fully qualified Accountant and member of a recognized accounting body
* Audit experience
* Strong IT skills and experience
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
* Experience in the IT industry
* Advanced knowledge of or professional training in SAGE accounts
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics
* Understanding of IFRS
* Experience managing a team

Additional information: This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in Belfast, London, or Wisborough Green offices.
