The Deal Execution team is part of KPMG’s Strategy Group, delivering value for clients by challenging thinking, leveraging industry insights, and executing with rigor. We are a diverse team of over 105 practitioners, working collaboratively across Advisory to enhance client value throughout the deal and economic cycle. Our specialists assist clients from conceptual thinking of acquisitions to business turnarounds.
The M&A Centre of Excellence focuses on all aspects of the employee journey in M&A, including organizational design, synergy analysis, employee experience, and transformational change outside of deals. We aim to help clients execute transactions and change efficiently, maximizing value and ensuring smooth transitions.
The Manager role is central to project delivery, working closely with senior team members and across sectors, with opportunities for specialization. Our key client propositions include:
* Employee experience: Managing engagement programs to address employee impacts, ensuring employees would choose to join independently of the deal.
* Organizational strategy development: Designing organizations, people strategies, operating models, and value enhancements for carve-outs or standalones.
* Labour relations and compliance: Managing HR risks and obligations globally to meet deal timelines and integration plans.
* HR operations: Delivering HR services efficiently during and after deals to provide high service levels to employees.
Role Overview
In this role, you will lead projects, working alongside senior team members to develop your deal, people, OD, and HR skills, and leverage your change and consulting expertise to deliver transformational change for clients outside of deals.
Your responsibilities include:
* Leading small to medium engagements and supporting clients daily
* Contributing to and reviewing deal reports from a people perspective
* Analyzing data on cost, people, legal issues, systems, and contracts
* Providing insights on people aspects affecting business strategy and valuation
* Developing benchmarks and qualitative insights for clients
* Advising on integration, separation, and optimization initiatives, including developing target operating models and transition plans
* Leading HR/OD workstreams in integrations and separations
* Facilitating client workshops and designing materials
* Supporting transformational change projects, creating roadmaps, designing change management plans, and identifying risks
* Interacting with stakeholders, coaching team members, and supporting business development activities
The Person
Work Experience:
* Understanding of HR, OD, or Strategy, preferably in M&A
* Experience in M&A projects and consultation
* Specialisms in HR functions, employee engagement, organizational design, etc.
* Experience leading client meetings and teams
* Strong understanding of HR value drivers
* Experience developing business pitches in the People sector
* Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
Professional, Technical & Soft Skills:
* Bachelor's degree; professional qualifications are a plus
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure and adapt to ambiguity
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Structured thinking and creativity
* Credibility in discussing industry issues
* Ability to evaluate complex challenges and recommend practical solutions
