Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join a busy team in Hertfordshire on a fully office-based basis. This is an urgent, high-volume role running until the end of May, ideal for a payroll professional with strong manual payroll experience and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
* End-to-end payroll processing, with focus on accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
* Perform complex manual payroll calculations for all payroll elements
* Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring data integrity
* HR administration, including starters, leavers, absences, and job changes
* Support Time and Attendance processes for payroll accuracy
* Administer employee pension schemes and liaise with providers
* Respond to and resolve payroll queries in a professional and timely manner
* Collaborate with internal teams to improve payroll processes
Requirements:
* Proven experience in high-volume, manual payroll processing
* Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance
* Proficiency in Staffology and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables)
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Experience with pension administration is preferred
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
* Strong communication skills and confident in resolving payroll queries
