Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Rotherham S25 Salary: £460 – £600 per week Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day Start Date: Immediately Are you passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? A local school in Rotherham is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join their team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant and help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. About the Role: As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students to provide tailored support that meets their individual needs. You will contribute to the well-being, development, and learning outcomes of students, helping them engage fully with the curriculum and school life. Responsibilities: Implement personalised support plans to meet the unique needs of each student. Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that encourages trust and engagement. Assist teaching staff in delivering lessons and classroom activities. Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and development in line with school policies. Support students with social and emotional development strategies. Assist with personal care and daily routines where needed, maintaining dignity and respect. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to provide holistic care. Qualifications: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEMH Support Worker, or similar role is preferred. Understanding of SEMH needs and effective support strategies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of students. A patient, compassionate, and supportive approach to working with children.
