CHP Maintenance Technician (Worksop/Leeds/Manchester/Birmingham) - £45,000 - £55,000, company vehicle, private healthcare, and pension
Our client, experts in onsite power and a leading engineering company, is seeking an experienced CHP Maintenance Technician. With over 6 years of industry experience, you will be involved in designing and implementing bespoke energy solutions that reduce carbon footprints and maximize profit and efficiency. The company specializes in CHP systems and has recently secured a £10 million order book, expanding its presence in the UK.
The role involves working on various projects including sustainability, battery storage, CHP, solar, and cooling systems on industrial sites, manufacturing facilities, hospitals, hotels, wastewater treatment plants, and factories.
Role: Are you a skilled Field Service Engineer with expertise in CHP maintenance and servicing? Do you enjoy diagnosing, troubleshooting, and maintaining CHP systems? As a Field Service Engineer, you will ensure the reliable operation of CHP generator sets and associated equipment at client sites, supporting the UK Maintenance Team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues on CHP systems
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including overhauls
* Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems using appropriate tools
* Service and maintain MAN engines and other CHP systems
* Assist in estimating parts and labor costs for repairs
* Maintain service vehicle stock with necessary tools and parts
* Prepare detailed service reports post-visit
* Ensure safe operation of the plant following health and safety regulations
* Provide technical support to clients for efficient CHP operation
* Proactively manage materials needed for maintenance
* Be available for on-call and emergency maintenance tasks
Experience:
* Experience with MAN CHP engines is highly desirable
* 3-5 years in maintenance, servicing, or troubleshooting of CHP systems
* Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical schematics
* Experience with engines, hydraulic systems, and troubleshooting tools
* Ability to work independently with a proactive approach
* Flexibility to travel and work on-call as needed

Package / Remuneration: The package depends on experience but typically includes:
* Basic Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
