About the job:
It would be your job to manage all aspects of the Scarborough receiving area with support from technically skilled and semi‑skilled operatives and engineers to deliver all performance targets relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environment and People.

Reporting into the Potato Supply & Operations Manager you will be responsible for the following:
* Plan, manage and coordinate the development of the shift team’s skills and capabilities.
* Collaborate with Engineering to lead a shift team consisting of technically skilled and semi‑skilled manufacturing operatives and technicians, ensuring team, departmental and shift performance objectives are met, including safety of people and food and asset maintenance.
* Provide training and coaching to ensure the shift team has the technical knowledge and competence required.
* Take accountability for personal safety, team safety and ensures mandatory business and legislative compliance in your area of authority.
* Pro‑actively manage quality specification requirements, ensuring Best Operating Practices are followed and data collection, validation and analysis are completed and appropriate actions taken.
* Deliver the raw material schedule while meeting agreed safety, quality, efficiency and cost targets.
* Manage supply and operational costs, control budgets and report accurately and timely against agreed budgets.
* Identify, implement and deliver continuous improvement opportunities using lean manufacturing tools, techniques and principles; generate enablers and ensure timely, cost‑effective completion of activities.

* Strong safety, food safety and quality mindset (GMP standards, audit readiness).
* Exposure to budgetary controls.

* Experience of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing tools.

Shift Pattern:
2 days 7am‑7pm, 1 day off; 2 nights 7pm‑7am followed by 3 days off.
Location:
You will be based at the Scarborough plant in North Yorkshire. The facility is one of the world’s largest French‑fry factories and supports modern, high‑tech production.
