Our Receptionists are the face of Newport Live, as the first point of contact when visiting our sites; greeting our members and visitors in person and answering calls along with our Customer Services team. We have a number of part-time shifts available at Newport International Sports Village, and are looking for people to join the team as soon as possible.
Hours, Pay and Benefits
Salary: Uplifted to Real Living Wage (£12.60 per hour)

Hours: There are currently multiple shifts available (please see below) across two sites (Regional Pool & Tennis Centre ("Pool") and the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales ("Velodrome")) with opportunities to work extra shifts as and when required for absence cover across all sites:
Monday
16:00 – 20:00 - Pool - Weekly
13:30 – 22:15 - Pool - 3 weekly - Week 1 (of a 3 week rota)
05: 45 – 14:00 - Pool - 3 weekly - Week 3 (of a 3 week rota)
Tuesday
16:00 to 20:00 - Pool - Weekly
13:30 – 22:15 -Velodrome - 3 weekly - Week 1 (of a 3 week rota)
05:45 – 14:00 – Velodrome - 3 Weekly - Week 3 (of a 3 week rota)
Thursday
05:45 – 14:30 – Velodrome - 3 weekly - Week 2 (of a 3 week rota)
Friday
13:30 – 22:15 – Velodrome - Weekly
Saturday
07:45 – 21:15 – Velodrome - 3 weekly - Week 2 (of a 3 week rota)
Sunday
10:30 - 14:30 – Pool - Weekly

Essential Experience
1. Working in a customer-facing customer services role
2. Cash handling in a busy service environment
3. Using telephony systems
4. Achieving set targets and deadlines

Role Requirements
Who are we looking for?
You should have a friendly and approachable nature, with a dedication to delivering excellent customer service and the ability to remain calm during busier periods (typically events and peak times).
Previous Receptionist experience is beneficial, but full training will be provided.
What will you be doing?
Our Receptionists are multi-taskers, and two shifts are rarely the same. The main responsibilities will include:
7. Greeting customers and visitors on arrival
8. Dealing with customers queries face-to-face, on the telephone or via email
9. Taking payments and assisting with paperwork for banking
10. Assisting with sales through positive promotion of our activities and services
11. Ensuring the Reception area is always clean and well presented
12. Taking an important role in any emergency situations, including site evacuations
