Pay Rate: £38.50 per hour
Job Type: Locum / Temporary Contract
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (9am – 5pm)

Job Description:

Join us in the heart of Morden for an exciting opportunity as an experienced Children’s Social Worker within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team. This ongoing, full-time locum role calls for a committed professional ready to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and young people. Dive into a fast-paced environment where your expertise will be crucial in screening referrals and making informed safeguarding decisions collaboratively.

What you will do:

1. Triage and assess incoming referrals regarding children who may be at risk of harm.
2. Gather and analyse information from multiple agencies to inform decisions on the level of risk and need.
3. Make informed recommendations on next steps, including thresholds for statutory intervention.
4. Liaise with professionals across agencies to ensure accurate and relevant information sharing.
5. Ensure all decisions are child-focused, evidence-based, and in line with current legislation and policy.
6. Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case recordings.
7. Contribute to the development of effective safeguarding responses and plans.
8. Participate in strategy discussions and MASH meetings.
9. Work in accordance with local authority safeguarding procedures and statutory frameworks such as Working Together to Safeguard Children and the Children Act 1989/2004.

Requirements:

1. Social Work qualification (Degree or Diploma in Social Work).
2. Registration with Social Work England.
3. Minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in children’s services.
4. Previous experience working within a MASH or child protection setting is highly desirable.
5. In-depth knowledge of safeguarding thresholds, risk assessment, and multi-agency working.
6. Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
7. Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service preferred).
8. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage complex cases in a timely manner.
