Simply Education are recruiting on behalf of a specialist school for a dedicated Science Teacher to join a supportive team working with young people who require additional support to re-engage with education and achieve their potential.
As a Science Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and supporting the wider vision of the academy. As a Science Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging Science lessons, monitor student progress and adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs. As a Science Teacher, you will also support the development of high-quality teaching and learning within the Science curriculum and contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Science Teacher, you will:
* Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons that support strong student progress
* Monitor and assess student achievement and track progress against targets
* Support the development of high-quality Science teaching and learning across the school
* Work with the SENCO to identify students who require additional support or intervention
* Deliver and support PSHE and RHSE programmes where required
* Maintain positive behaviour and create a supportive learning environment
* Support the mental health and wellbeing of students
* Contribute to the planning, organisation and development of the Science curriculum
* Support colleagues through sharing best practice to improve teaching and learning
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a Science Teacher who:
* Must be a Science Teacher with QTS or QTLS
* Has strong subject and curriculum knowledge in Science
* Is able to set high expectations and inspire students to achieve
* Demonstrates success in supporting students who may be working below expected levels
* Has experience working with disengaged or disconnected learners
* Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability within the curriculum
* Is committed to improving student outcomes and wellbeing
* Is committed to the school's focus on improving student attainment
* Experience of contributing to whole-school teaching and learning strategies would be advantageous
* Ability to inspire all in a love of learning for Science
