Occupational Therapy Senior Therapy Support Worker
Join to apply for the Occupational Therapy Senior Therapy Support Worker role at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated occupational therapy senior therapy support worker to join our inpatient team on a temporary basis to cover a maternity leave. As a senior therapy support worker, you will be assessing and treating patients in a range of daily activities to encourage functional independence in preparation for their discharge from hospital. You will be working under the guidance of an established and supportive team of qualified occupational therapists, physiotherapists and other therapy support staff within the services. We are seeking applicants who have experience working in a therapy environment within the NHS, and understand the physical, cognitive and emotional needs of patients experiencing an acute admission and the effect this may have on their discharge. We welcome applications from those who possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrate flexibility and initiative and can prioritise their workload in a busy environment. The OT and PT team practice enhanced skills and you will be supported to achieve selective competencies within physiotherapy to enhance the service for our patients. You will be supported to develop the skills to work independently, to provide delivery of care including liaison with patients, family members, carers, the multi-disciplinary team and external agencies following a home first model. IT skills are required, as the service operates with electronic patient records. There is a commitment to support 7‑day services, so flexibility to work weekends on a rota system will be required. You will also demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and an aptitude for team working. We are seeking someone who can demonstrate the trust’s PROUD to CARE values. Flexibility to help cover other wards will be required, in line with service needs.
