We're currently recruiting an ambitious Apprentice to help us create exceptional food experiences for Chartwells on a full-time basis contracted to 40 hours per week. As an Apprentice, you will be responsible for preparing and serving food that brightens our clients' and customers' days, within the market-leading food service company in the UK. You'll have opportunities to progress within a company that invests in its people, celebrates individuality, and rewards employees who go beyond the plate.
Here's what your shift patterns will be: 5 out of 7 days. Please note: This role is contracted to 38.5 weeks per year.

Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers
2. Overseeing and implementing menu changes
3. Identifying opportunities to improve our food services
4. Listening and acting on customer feedback to improve our food services
5. Supporting the creation of new menus and food concepts
6. Representing Chartwells and maintaining a positive brand image
7. Monitoring inventories to keep kitchens well-stocked
8. Maintaining hygiene standards through kitchen cleaning responsibilities
9. Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene, and Health and Safety regulations
Requirements:
* Passion for great-tasting food and customer service
* City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent
* Experience supervising a team
* Experience in a similar Chef role
* Food Hygiene certificate
* Flexible approach to working
This is an excellent opportunity to grow, learn, and develop your skills with training and coaching. You may have worked here before or be working here now, but you must be an EU resident for the last three years, have a permanent employment contract, work at least 16 hours a week, and demonstrate basic English and maths skills.
Apprenticeships typically take 1-2 years, with levels including Level 2 (Intermediate), Level 3 (Advanced), and Higher apprenticeships, depending on your current skills and goals.
