Web Marketing Manager
We have an exciting opportunity to join our busy Web Marketing (Researcher Services) Team as a Web Marketing Manager, with responsibility for a small team and a particular focus on our suite of community websites.
The community websites enable us to engage with some of our key customer groups: Authors, Librarians, and Editors. This role will focus on the delivery of strategic plans for the sites, in particular with regard to content, and will draw support from colleagues across the business, so building good working relationships will be vital.
This role will contribute to defining goals and success metrics, analysing data, and using tools to understand customer journeys and behaviour through our web estate. Planning effective website content, with SEO in mind, to deliver on our business goals will be key to success.
What you will be doing
* Take the lead on the management of content on the suite of T&F Marketing community websites, reviewing workflows within the team so it is kept up-to-date, accurate and in line with company positioning and brand.
* Manage and develop direct reports working in support of the community sites, fostering a culture of high‑level performance and motivation in the team. Encourage new ideas and provide constructive feedback.
* Structure and optimise the content of the sites to delight visitors and help guide them through their journey towards a conversion.
* Develop plans for new content, which is highly relevant to current and potential customers, bringing in valuable organic traffic to deliver on engagement and conversion targets.
* Expertly gather requirements from stakeholders, ensuring that their goal(s) are understood and articulated in the planning process.
* Manage a centralised view of projects, including continuous improvement work, with accountability for planning, prioritisation and risk mitigation.
* Refine metrics and targets for the community websites, in support of key Marketing goals.
* Work with our Marketing Insights team to develop regular reporting, carrying out performance analysis, and use insights reporting tool to implement evidence‑based recommendations.
What we are looking for
* Ability to manage a small team, developing quality, efficiency and innovation.
* Ability to use web traffic analysis, keyword research and on‑page optimisation skills to enable the creation and curation of trusted digital content that delivers on strategic goals.
* An understanding of best practice for copywriting for the web, able to ensure that high quality and accurate copy is produced and maintained by the team.
* Knowledge of SEO content best practices and experience with relevant tools (e.g. CMS, Keyword Research, SEO) used to manage and plan website content. Able to work closely with our development team to maintain and improve the websites.
* Ability to motivate others towards a common goal, flexible and adaptable with the ability to successfully work across teams and functions, in a matrixed environment. Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and resources and to delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively.
* Data‑driven and customer‑focused with the ability to drive insights from complex data and champion the voice of the customer.
* Develops and implements innovative ideas that improve work processes or results; maintains advanced knowledge of new marketing/industry trends.
Additional Information

When you’re not spending time together in one of our offices or other workplaces – like at conference – you get the flexibility and support to work from home or remotely.
Location
The successful candidate will be able to utilise our balanced working model. We ask that candidates live within a commutable distance of our Milton Park, Abingdon office to ensure that as a balanced worker they can make it to our office location to collaborate as required. There is an expectation for a minimum of 3 days per week in‑person time.
