Senior Associate – Real Estate
Location: Edinburgh (hybrid working available)
PQE: Approx. 5–8 years
Contract: Permanent
A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Real Estate Senior Associate to join its well‑established and highly regarded Scottish practice.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on high‑value, complex property transactions for a blue‑chip client base that includes institutional investors, developers and major corporate occupiers. The role offers exposure to some of the most significant real estate matters in the Scottish market, within a genuinely collaborative and supportive team environment.
The Role
You will play a key role in advising on a broad spectrum of real estate work, including:
1. Acquisitions and disposals
2. Landlord and tenant matters
3. Development projects
4. Ongoing asset management
5. Scottish real estate support for wider corporate and finance transactions
You will manage matters from inception to completion, take ownership of client relationships and contribute to the supervision and development of junior lawyers.
The Team
The successful candidate will join a sizeable and well‑structured team comprising partners, legal directors, principal associates, associates, trainees and paralegals. The team has a strong reputation for technical excellence, commercial advice and a down‑to‑earth, pragmatic approach.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
6. Qualification as a Scottish solicitor
7. Approximately 5–8 years’ PQE in real estate
8. Strong experience across commercial property transactions
9. Confident drafting and negotiation skills
10. Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
11. Ability to manage a varied workload and work effectively under pressure
12. A commercial, client‑focused mindset
