Salary
£58,100 – £78,000 plus performance‑related bonus and a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Role
SSEN Distribution powers 3.8 million homes and businesses across central southern England and the north of Scotland. The Finance Business Partner is focused on performance improvement, business analysis & insight, strategic business planning, budgeting & forecasting. This role supports the Directorate by providing timely and effective financial support and challenge to senior business management, including delivery of monthly forecasts, annual budgets and 5‑year plans.
Responsibilities
* Proactively challenge the business on financial performance to drive improvements, providing insight, knowledge and recommendations at Head of / Director level.
* Advise and guide the business on strategic planning from a finance perspective, reviewing CBAs and other investment appraisals to identify risks and opportunities.
* Prepare, coordinate and lead robust Directorate forecasts, budgets and longer‑term planning, ensuring accuracy, realism and alignment with the broader strategy.
* Work with business teams to identify and review business cases for capital investments, IT, Operations Technology, Connections proposals and efficiency opportunities to improve regulatory performance and benchmarking.
Qualifications
* 3‑5 years PQE in a business‑partnering, finance manager or management accountant role with experience solving business issues of similar scale and complexity.
* Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills.
* Strong background in a project‑driven business with understanding of contract management, project delivery and financial planning.
* Excellent skills interpreting and assimilating data from multiple sources, including external market data, to provide meaningful insight and actionable recommendations.
* Experience influencing strategy and translating it into actionable programmes that improve profitability or mitigate risk.
