Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven leader to head our Issuing Outreach team within the Payment Performance pillar. Based in our London office, you will play a pivotal role in driving engagement with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders, including product, engineering, risk, commercial, card schemes, and issuing banks globally. This role will lead the global Issuer Outreach team to prioritize and execute team initiatives with current and new issuing banks, ensuring timelines are met and feedback/results are tracked and shared with the pillar.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Strategy:
o Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Issuing Outreach team aligned with the broader goals of the Payment Performance pillar.
o Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing, globally distributed team.
o Advise the team on prioritizing initiatives to drive impact.
2. Stakeholder Management and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
o Collaborate with internal teams (product, engineering, risk, commercial) to identify and address payment performance challenges.
o Align issuing strategies with product development and innovation.
o Act as a bridge between commercial goals and operational realities, ensuring seamless execution.
o Serve as the primary contact with senior leaders to update on team success, risks, and opportunities.
3. Performance Optimization:
o Analyze payment performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
o Implement tailored solutions for tier 1 merchants and issuing partners.
4. Thought Leadership:
o Represent Checkout.com at industry events and meetings with external partners.
o Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting payment performance and issuing practices.
Qualifications
About You:
We seek a strategic, collaborative leader passionate about payments, industry knowledge, and capable of leading diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
* 10+ years experience in payments, fintech, or related fields, with leadership roles.
* Outstanding analytical and business insight skills.
* Deep understanding of payment performance, issuing bank relations, fraud detection, risk management, and authentication.
* Effective stakeholder management skills.
* Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities, especially with senior partners.
* Proven team-building and scaling capabilities.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience in a global, multicultural setting.
