This role sits within our Health & Safety team and reports directly to the Head of Health & Safety. You’ll be a key link between our Property, Development, and Compliance functions – offering strategic and operational CDM guidance and taking on Principal Designer duties where required. You'll also line manage two CDM Officers and collaborate closely with Building Safety Managers to help us meet new legislative requirements under the Building Safety Act 2022. As this is a new role, you’ll bring fresh thinking, help shape how we embed CDM processes across the organisation, and be part of a wider transformation to improve building safety outcomes. What skills and experience do you need? We're looking for someone who is confident, collaborative, and curious. You’ll need: Proven experience in construction, maintenance or building safety, including direct involvement in CDM roles. Detailed knowledge of CDM 2015, the Building Safety Act 2022 and Building Safety Regulator expectations. Confidence in communication – you’ll need to simplify complex information and influence others positively. A strategic mindset – balancing the bigger picture with day-to-day compliance activity. The right qualifications, including: A relevant professional degree in a construction/design-related discipline NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Health and Safety Chartered membership with a recognised professional body (RICS, RIBA, CIOB, APS) Strong IT skills and a full UK driving licence with access to a car. What are the pay and benefits? £53,585 for a 37 hour, full time, permanent position Flexible working policies – this role would be both home and office based with regular time spent out on site across South Wales.
