About The Business Division
The Water Utilities Division is the centre of excellence for addressing water and wastewater challenges in the UK and Ireland. We protect safe water supplies, prevent flooding and improve river and coastal health through advisory services, feasibility studies, design and delivery.
Overview of the Role
As a member of the Asset Management & Infrastructure Planning Team, you will help the water sector become more efficient and sustainable. You will work across multidisciplinary teams on projects that support Net Zero targets, climate resilience and long‑term asset performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the technical delivery of asset management advisory projects, interacting with clients and working within client environments.
* Contribute to the development of project outputs, including investment business cases and reports.
* Support business development activities, including client engagement and proposal preparation.
* Facilitate asset management capability assessments and identify improvement areas.
* Support project and budget management, coordinating teams and ensuring compliance with PM procedures.
* Undertake assigned training to support technical excellence.
* Perform data analysis to support project delivery.
Candidate Specification
We are looking for motivated professionals with at least 5 years of asset management experience, preferably in the water sector. The ideal candidate aims for a long‑term career, seeks membership of the Institute of Asset Management and will manage their own projects.
Essential
* Degree qualified in an environmental or relevant subject.
* Chartership recently achieved through ICE, CIWEM or similar, or demonstrable progress towards Chartership.
* Industry experience in asset management, ideally within a water company or consultancy.
* Critical thinking and analytical skills.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills, including complex document review and concise presentation.
* Project management, client liaison and consulting skills.
* Willingness to undertake assignments throughout the UK, and short international visits.
Desired
* Certificate or Diploma in Asset Management from the Institute of Asset Management.
* Assurance/audit experience, including ISO auditing.
* Commercial awareness and project proposal preparation.
* Organisational change management experience.
* Chartership with a relevant environmental or asset management professional institution.
* Willingness to pursue training in decarbonisation, climate resilience, systems thinking, nature‑based solutions and/or circular economy.
* Broader awareness of other environmental and social disciplines.
