Job Description Operational Trainer – Gifting Alconbury £30,000 per annum Shifts: Wednesday–Saturday or Sunday–Wednesday (average 38.5 hours per week) Are you passionate about training and coaching others? I’m currently working with a leading business in the FMCG and gifting sector that is looking to add an Operational Trainer within Gifting to their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in training, coaching, or mentoring within a warehouse, manufacturing, or production setting. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering onboarding training to new starters, providing on-the-job coaching, and acting as a role model for best practice in food safety, hygiene, and brand standards. You’ll also play a key part during seasonal peaks such as Christmas, ensuring that premium hampers and gifting products are prepared to the highest standard. Duties Deliver induction training for new starters, ensuring they understand food safety, hygiene, and brand standards. Provide on-the-job coaching, guiding colleagues through processes and correcting errors in real time. Act as a visible role model, showing best practice in hygiene, product presentation, and professionalism. Monitor teams throughout the day to check standards are being maintained. Keep accurate training and coaching records ready for audits and compliance checks. Support teams during seasonal peaks (e.g., Christmas) by reinforcing standards under pressure. Work with managers to identify skills gaps and create development plans. Help teams adapt to new processes, technology, and SOPs through structured training. The Candidate Previous experience in coaching, training, or mentoring in an operational, manufacturing, or logistics environment Strong knowledge of SOPs, safe systems of work, and compliance requirements Confident communicator who can engage and motivate individuals at all levels Organised and methodical, with experience keeping accurate training and coaching records This role is perfect for someone who loves working with people, has a strong eye for detail, and wants to be part of a supportive team where quality and standards matter.
