My client is looking for a Mechanical Fitter to be responsible for assembling high-quality converting machinery used by clients around the world. Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications, you’ll join a skilled team of engineers and technicians at our modern Ipswich facility to build precision-engineered machines to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Mechanical assembly of converting machinery and related components
* Reading, understanding, and working from detailed technical drawings and specifications
* Fitting, alignment, and testing of complex mechanical systems
* Working to high standards of accuracy, precision, and quality
* Assisting with commissioning and machine testing as required
* Collaborating closely with electrical and software teams during build and test phases
* Maintaining compliance with all company health and safety procedures and standards
Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven experience in mechanical fitting or assembly, ideally within machinery or equipment manufacturing
* Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices
* Proficient in the use of a wide range of hand and power tools
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately
* Methodical, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team
* A strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement
* Mechanical assembly: Minimum 2 years (required)
