What the Job Involves As an Arborist for Enfield Council, you will work within the Highway Services Department, focusing on redevelopment and environmental works. You will be responsible for carrying out arboricultural operations, including planting, pruning, and maintaining trees using hand and powered tools. Supervising a team of up to five staff, including apprentices, you will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and respond to changing circumstances effectively. In absence of the team supervisor, you may be required to deputize and make critical decisions under pressure. Your role will include regular site visits, working at heights or in hazardous environments, and delivering professional services throughout the year. Skills Qualified in chainsaw maintenance (CS30.1) and use (CS30.2, CS31) Experience in aerial rescue (CS38) and use of chainsaw from rope and harness (CS39) Competence in applying relevant legislation and codes for tree management Full driving license with C1/C1E/BE entitlement First aid certification (desirable) Proficiency in stump grinding and wood chipper operations (desirable) Experience with MEWP and chainsaw use in MEWP (desirable) Skills in street works signing, lighting, and guarding (desirable)
