We are looking for a Part Time Support Worker (32.5 hours) to work in our Day Centre located in Gravesend. Our Day Centre currently supports autistic adults. They all thoroughly enjoy going out into the community as they regularly attend activities such as swimming, horse-riding and trampolining. A number of them also carry out Work Experience. Inside the Day Centre itself, they participate in the indoor activities such as music, drama, dance, art, cooking and self-help skills. The staff that work at these services have fantastic communication skills, use their own initiative and are flexible. You must be a driver and hold a full UK driving licence and willing to drive our own minibus. The mini bus is a 9 seater, the same size as a Transit van so you only need an ordinary licence, with 2 years driving experience. As driver you will take our clients and staff out to do their activities. We need you to be resilient, supportive and sensitive towards the needs of autistic people. Being a support worker takes bravery, patience and commitment. But working with autistic people gives so much more in return. You may have a personal connection, a desire to work with or real life experiences working with autistic people.
