We have a new opportunity for a Motor Claims Crime Prevention Consultant in our dedicated Linked & Organised team.
Location and Salary
This is a full-time hybrid role with flexibility on office location. We require you to be within a 60‑minute commute of your nearest Allianz office. We offer flexibility, and specific arrangements can be discussed during the interview process.
Pay: Circa £32,000, dependent on skills and experience.
Role Description
* Prevent, investigate and detect insurance claims fraud through proactive case portfolio management, providing business referral support and working with external bodies such as the Insurance Fraud Bureau and law enforcement agencies.
* Responsible for decision‑making regarding the retention of referrals from internal and external sources to the Claims Crime Prevention Teams, returning genuine claims urgently with constructive feedback.
* Compile mandatory intelligence searches and advanced ad hoc searches to aid decisions on claim retention or return.
* Engage with other departments, support relationships, and provide technical support.
* Carry out appropriate intelligence searches to ascertain claim authenticity or fraud risk, working across all systems and databases.
* Understand fraud scenarios and determine appropriate investigations to resolve suspicions of fraudulent activity.
* Manage own development portfolio within individual authority or on referral where applicable, implementing investigative techniques to maximise fraud identification while minimising impact on customer experience and company reputation.
* When a claim is deemed potentially fraudulent, capture and highlight concerns, recording accurately.
* Update and maintain the case management system database and related fraud software applications as directed.
* Identify linked and organised cases, including claims farming (KYO), and refer these to senior level.
* Identify and highlight specific fraud trends or companies to senior level.
* Comply with all internal, regulatory and statutory standards and controls, ensuring requirements of the Group and regulatory bodies are met.
* Liaise with law enforcement and industry bodies.
* Negotiate effectively with Policyholders & Third Parties to conclude settlement if appropriate.
* Manage litigation and ensure cases progress in an effective, timely and cost‑effective manner with approval and referral to mentor or senior.
* Manage all complaints and maintain contact with customers through the complaint procedure, keeping the database up to date with senior support.
* Manage own self‑development and contribute to 1‑2‑1s, team discussions and continuous improvement programmes.
Essential Skills
* Understanding of Motor Claims Liability.
* Positive and proactive approach to the customer at all times during investigation, in line with TCF.
* Knowledge of the Data Protection Act, including Section 29 requests.
* Understanding of claims and underwriting processes used across LV= Operations.
* Experience negotiating with solicitors.
* Basic understanding of principles of insurance, money laundering and POCA.
* Awareness of personal injury claims, the MOJ/OIC process and required actions.
* Basic understanding of investigation principles.
* Understanding of Indemnity.
* Basic knowledge of credit hire principles and fee structure.
* Strong communication skills, both over phone and face‑to‑face, at all levels.
* Basic understanding of insurance case law relating to fraud.
