We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a portfolio of major projects. You’ll manage projects from early-stage design and pricing through to construction, working closely with contractors and internal teams to drive performance. You’ll champion health & safety, and environmental excellence while delivering outstanding results for local communities.
What you’ll be doing as a Senior Project Manager
1. Developing and delivering an optimised project to achieve all regulatory, statutory and internal outputs, deadlines and targets.
2. Delivering successful technical solutions that provide optimal value for money on a capital and whole life cost basis.
3. Managing and developing the project team in a culture of accountability and achievement.
4. Leading a customer-focused culture, unrelenting in its pursuit of excellence in service delivery to both internal and external customers.
5. Proactively ensuring every customer touch point is a positive experience to remember.
6. Actively protecting, managing and enhancing Thames Water’s reputation to external customers and stakeholders.
7. Maintain strong external stakeholder relationships to actively protect and enhance Thames Water’s reputation to external customers and communities.
8. Establish and continuously promote a proactive health, safety & environment culture across the Project and our service providers.
9. Delivering sustainable financial out-performance against approved budgets.
10. Commercially managing all contract matters to achieve the optimal outcome for Thames Water.
Location: Flexibility within our London, Thames Valley and Home Counties sites, with occasional visits to Clearwater Court, Reading.
Working Hours: 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need is:
11. Degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience in an engineering discipline.
12. An experienced Construction Senior Project Manager – with a background in delivering solutions in complex, regulated environments, ideally water or utilities.
13. Commercially astute, able to develop strong contractual relationships and drive results with Tier 1 Contractors.
14. The ability to multitask and manage several multi-million dollar construction projects.
15. A proactive, hands-on leader with the determination and enthusiasm to make a real impact.
16. Excellent communication and listening skills with an engaging and open approach.
17. Prepared to travel and work across a number of sites, with occasional travel to Reading Head Office.

18. Previous experience in the Water industry or a similar regulated sector.

19. Competitive salary from £67,000 to £88,000 per annum.
