Financial Controller - Exclusively registered, West Yorkshire
A well-established, fast-growing business operating in a highly acquisitive, multi-entity environment is looking to appoint a technically excellent Financial Controller to lead on group reporting, statutory compliance, and financial control.
This is a newly created role designed to support the business as it scales - offering the successful candidate a rare opportunity to help shape the financial backbone of a high-performing, PE-backed organisation during a period of rapid growth and transformation. Your role will involve:
* Taking ownership of statutory reporting, technical accounting, and group audit processes across multiple legal entities.
* Leading month-end and year-end close, ensuring robust financial controls, reconciliations, and reporting standards.
* Implementing and maintaining accounting policies in line with evolving business needs.
* Developing and leading a small team of accountants, building capability and improving process efficiency.
* Collaborating with FP&A, tax, and treasury to ensure accurate, timely, and integrated financial information.
* Supporting M&A activity and the integration of newly acquired entities into the financial reporting structure.
* Contributing to the evolution of financial systems, controls, and reporting infrastructure.
Ideally, you will be a qualified accountant - ACA-qualified (preferably Big 4/top-tier trained), with strong technical accounting and statutory reporting experience:
* Experience in a complex business environment - ideally PE-backed, multi-entity, or acquisitive.
* Highly organised and detail-focused, with a proactive mindset and the ability to drive improvements.
* Excellent communication skills, comfortable working across all levels of the organisation.
* Strong leadership potential and a desire to grow into a broader group finance or FD-level role over time.
