As an Opportunity Coach, you’ll play a vital role in supporting individuals on their journey to employment or other work-related outcomes. You’ll build and nurture partnerships with clients, carers, employers, educational institutions, and statutory organisations—helping people unlock their potential and thrive in the workplace.

Role Purpose: To maximise paid employment opportunities for clients by engaging with employers, identifying sector-specific skills and standards, and providing tailored support. You will job coach, deliver group sessions, support self-employment initiatives, and collaborate with external agencies to ensure a coordinated and inclusive approach to supported employment.
What you'll be doing:
7. Supporting clients to identify and apply for appropriate paid jobs and work-related opportunities, this will include preparing for interviews and during interviews and securing feedback.
8. Job coaching and providing post-employment support to maximise job retention.
9. Planning and delivering small group sessions and creating quality resources.
10. Promoting self-employment opportunities and supporting clients to develop business plans.
11. Representing Proper Job at forums, workshops, and conferences to share best practice and strengthen partnerships.
12. Recording and evidencing client progress and outcomes.
About you:
Qualifications & experience essential criteria:
13. A-Level/NVQ Level or equivalent, or considerable experience in a similar role.
14. Understanding of barriers to work faced by disabled people, especially those with learning disabilities and autism.
15. Skilled in mediation, negotiation, and working with under-represented groups.
16. Strong report writing, data analysis, and presentation skills.
17. Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet research.
18. Able to work independently, prioritise workload, and manage sensitive issues.
19. Knowledge of the Cornish economy and local employment landscape.
20. Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
Qualifications & experience desirable criteria:
21. Experience supporting clients into self-employment.
22. Experience working in supported employment or vocational rehabilitation.
