A leading UK high street supplier is seeking a fashion led Ladies Athleisure/Sportswear Designer to join its central London design team. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating trend-led, commercially viable ranges for major retail customers.
Main Responsibilities will include:
* Support the planning and design of ladies' athleisure and sportswear ranges
* Create CAD designs for both customer presentations and internal ranges
* Develop accurate tech packs to ensure sample precision
* Contribute to seasonal trend packs, including shapes, fabrics, colours, graphics, and mood direction
* Conduct regular shop reports for competitor and market analysis
* Proactively research and source new fabrics and trims
* Participate in seasonal inspiration trips, including potential international travel
* Liaise with internal merchandising teams in Shanghai
* Build and maintain strong relationships with buying teams
* Maintain and update sample trackers
* Keep fabric and trim libraries organised and current
* Ensure digital systems (e.g. OneDrive) are up to date
* General office administration, including post and maintaining rails and folders
* Continuously develop skills, including learning new software such as AI tools
Person Specification:
* Experience in xsngvjr ladieswear design is essential
* Previous exposure to sportswear is preferred but not essential
* Strong CAD skills, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
* Working knowledge of Excel; AI software skills are advantageous
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Ability to design commercially viable yet trend-forward ranges
* Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Strong team player with a proactive approach
* Positive, motivated, and determined attitude
