The job itself
We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable, and caring individual to join our midday team, working three days per week (2 hours per day, 11:45 am - 1:45 pm). The specific days will be confirmed.
The role involves serving lunches to children with various special needs during lunchtime. Responsibilities include transporting meals from the main school site to the Student Centre on the Driffield School site (approximately 2.2 miles return journey) using your own vehicle, preparing food for serving, checking temperatures, and recording results.
You will be supported by Kings Mill's experienced team, with support, guidance, and training provided. The successful candidate will need to complete online Level 2 Food Safety training and allergen awareness training unless valid certificates are already held.
Applicants must have a valid driving licence, own a vehicle, and have business use insurance for their vehicle.
For an informal discussion or to arrange a visit, please contact Lisa Brown, School Business Manager, at 01377 253375 or email: kingsmill.specialschool@eastriding.gov.uk.
The school and residence are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment.
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a self-declaration regarding their criminal record or any information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. An online search will also be conducted.
You must be able to explain any gaps in your employment or education history and have the legal right to work in the UK. Appointments are subject to satisfactory disclosure checks at an enhanced level by the Disclosure and Barring Service, as well as other background checks including professional references.
We adhere to all principles of safer recruitment outlined in the DfE document "Keeping Children Safe in Education" (current version).
Further information about our safeguarding commitments can be found in our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy, available in the policies section of our website: www.kingsmillschool.co.uk.
