**Job Title:** Development Bakery Chef
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and developing new bakery products, overseeing the handover, trials, and first production of bakery items with a focus on quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create and develop new bakery products
* Oversee the handover, trials, and first production of bakery items
* Ensure products meet quality and consistency standards
* Benchmark products against competitors and drive innovation
* Train and assist bakery staff to become proficient in their roles
* Liaise with various departments to introduce new products and ranges
Operational Requirements:
* Liaise with senior management, production, technical, purchasing, finance, sales, and other teams to introduce new products and ranges
* Presentation of exciting new ideas and concepts to customers
* Carrying out product development, including concept development, presentation, costings, kitchen and pre-production trials, and shelf life analysis
* Overseeing the integration of new products into the bakery, including sourcing new raw materials and ensuring NPD technologists have all necessary information
* Ensuring product samples sent to customers are made to specification and customer requirements prior to dispatch
* Conducting quality assessments of products on an ongoing basis
Additional Responsibilities:
* Assist technical in the approval of new suppliers by checking supplier suitability and issuing supplier questionnaires
* Coordinate new product transfer from NPD to production ownership
* Monitor existing products to ensure they meet specifications and live up to brand expectations
* Keep up-to-date with current trends and emerging trends in the industry
