We are looking for enthusiastic teachers who will be responsible for providing leadership, good management, and strategic direction to the school. The role involves conducting the affairs of the school to benefit pupils and the community it serves. The successful candidate will lead and manage the whole school policy, its implementation, and evaluation. Additionally, they will manage and develop the school curriculum, learning, and teaching provisions to promote improved educational outcomes.
The post holder must demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the service and the organization.
Holding the Standard for Headship has become a prerequisite for teachers taking up their first permanent headteacher post at Local Authority and grant-aided schools in Scotland from 1 August 2020, under Section 28 of the Education (Scotland) Act 2016.
There are two exemptions: the first applies to any permanent headteacher appointed to a position in a school on or before 1 August 2020. The second exemption allows education authorities or managers of grant-aided schools to appoint a person to a headteacher post without the Standard for Headship on a temporary basis for a period not exceeding 23 months after 1 August 2020.

Requirements
This post involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If the candidate has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. The employment offer is conditional upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
