Head Of Proactive Sales - Jockey Club Experiences X Levy UK, Remote/hybrid | Full-Time / Permanent

Overall Purpose
We are looking for a strategic and commercially driven leader to take responsibility for the leadership, management, and performance of proactive sales across Jockey Club venues. The successful candidate will develop and implement effective processes, structures, and resources to deliver initial Levy Year One performance, while shaping and executing a forward-thinking three-year sales strategy. They will lead, recruit, train, and inspire a high-performing team of sales managers and researchers, fostering a culture of accountability and success.
This role will drive business development by identifying new markets, expanding the existing customer base, and growing revenue across key accounts. Acting as a key ambassador for The Jockey Club, the candidate will represent the business at exhibitions, industry events, and networking opportunities. They will work closely with sales managers to identify and manage top-tier clients, leading proactive sales activity and strengthening long-term relationships.
Using strong market insight and business intelligence, the successful candidate will identify opportunities to increase market share and maximise revenue at optimal price points. They will collaborate cross-functionally with reactive sales, marketing, project management, and finance teams to ensure alignment and delivery of integrated sales, marketing, and communications plans. In addition, they will contribute to industry partnerships and association memberships, supporting the wider strategic goals of the organisation.
Head Of Proactive Sales - The Role
Leadership & Team Management
* Lead, recruit, and develop the team in line with agreed processes and standards
* Inspire and maintain a high-performance, sales-driven culture
* Conduct structured performance reviews and drive targeted improvement actions
* Set and agree individual annual sales targets and KPIs aligned with budgets
* Oversee performance and ongoing development of the team
Sales & Revenue Management
* Ensure account plans and targets are in place to deliver revenue across all sales channels
* Take responsibility for venue sales reporting in line with agreed standards
* Drive retention and year-on-year growth across customer accounts
Marketing & Communication
* Lead venue communication and marketing activity in collaboration with Marketing
* Ensure clear and consistent communication strategies
Collaboration & Business Development
* Support and collaborate on new business bids and contract opportunities
* Work with mobilisation teams on trackers, site visits, presentations, and materials
Customer Experience & Account Management
* Take ownership of the customer sales experience across venues
* Ensure strong client relationships, retention, and growth
Financial Management
* Manage team expense budgets effectively
Industry Engagement
* Ensure industry association partnerships are actively managed and utilised
* Allocate associations across the team and encourage event attendance and networking
Innovation & Technology
* Stay curious and informed about emerging technology and AI
* Explore and implement technology to enhance processes and structures

* A minimum of 5 years senior team management experience of high performing sales teams in hospitality industry.
