All About the Role
Based at our Bristol site, the purpose of this role is to lead the night shift within the warehouse, driving process whilst ensuring all health and safety standards are adhered to and your team are well trained and engaged. The shift hours are Monday to Friday 2pm -10pm.
Specific tasks may include:
1. Promote a safe environment and culture throughout the workforce, promoting a culture where safety always comes first, while ensuring all activities comply with Barrett Steel Health & Safety policies
2. Achieve a high level of customer service and satisfaction, promoting the Barrett Steel Quality policy and local Operating Procedures
3. Promote continuous improvement throughout all aspects of the warehouse
4. Motivate, train, and develop the shift, managing its performance, to maintain an effective team capable of meeting its current and projected objectives.
5. Ensure accuracy throughout the key areas of the warehouse structure
6. Working with the team under the direction of the Manager to develop and implement operational solutions without compromising quality or service while optimising cost.

You will have the passion, drive, and confidence to work within the business in a collaborative, creative way.
Essential Skills for the role:
16. Be able to demonstrate success gained in leading/supervising a team & evidence of driving change.
17. Have an excellent working knowledge of H&S. (Ideally IOSH trained but not essential)
18. Ideally understand or be trained in lean manufacturing techniques and in managing and developing effective team working.
19. Experience in the steel industry or similar environment
20. Excellent communication, planning & organisational skills.
