An established environmental consultancy is seeking a Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Consultant to join its growing Manchester team. The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting the delivery of BNG across a range of dynamic and meaningful projects. This position offers the opportunity to contribute from early feasibility through to post development monitoring, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and diverse clients.
Your new role
The main responsibilities of this role include:
Supporting a portfolio of varied andplex projects from concept topletionUndertaking fieldwork, including small and large-scale habitat surveys using UKHab methodologyProducing written BNG feasibility reports and design-stage assessmentsCreating 30-year site-specific habitat management and monitoring plansCollaborating with internal teams (, landscape architecture, arboriculture) and external consultantsAdvising clients and contributing to workshops and presentationsUpdating project documentation in response to design changes or consultee feedbackSupporting effective project delivery through strong planning and coordinationAssisting with wider ecology team tasks and resource planning as neededWhat you'll need to succeed
1–2 years’ experience delivering Biodiversity Net Gain assessmentsStrong understanding of the Biodiversity Metric, BNG policy, and related guidanceDegree in ecology or a related environmental disciplineExperience carrying out ecological field surveys with accurate data recordingAbility to produce clear, concise, and technically robust written reportsUnderstanding of habitat management principles and conservation planningExcellent organisational and time management skills, particularly when working to deadlinesStrong interpersonal andmunication skills for working with clients and colleaguesProficiency with Microsoft OfficeEnthusiastic, flexible, andmitted to continual professional developmentFull UK driving licenceWillingness to work outside standard hours and travel when requiredWhat you'll get in return

Annual salary of £30,000 - £45,000
