Description

We’re looking for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join the Butlin's Buffets Department based in Skegness. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will support the running of the kitchen, lead a large team of chefs and step in during the Kitchen Manager’s absence. You will monitor the guest experience, develop action plans for continuous improvement, manage daily briefings, stock control, food presentation, food cost budgets, menu planning, cooking standards, food hygiene and health and safety compliance, and serve as a role model for training and performance development.


Responsibilities (Kitchen)

* Support kitchen operations and lead a large team of chefs.
* Monitor guest experience and develop action plans for continuous improvement.
* Conduct daily briefings, manage stock control and review food presentation.
* Deliver food cost budgets through menu planning, cooking to standards and specification.
* Ensure food hygiene standards and health and safety compliance.
* Provide training schedules and performance development plans for the team.
* Serve as a role model for Butlin’s unique way of working.


Qualifications (Kitchen)

* Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
* Experience in a similar role with large volume turnaround, capable of handling 3,000 guests per service.
* Strong leadership, time management and organisational skills.
* Hard‑working, reliable, energetic, enthusiastic and fun‑loving.
* Knowledge of health, safety and hygiene standards.
* Available for a 5‑day working week, 40 hours per week.
* Shift time: 6am – 12:00.
* No onsite accommodation provided.


Cleaning Responsibilities

* Clean main venues, toilets, and areas using electrical and mechanical cleaning equipment.
* Handle chemicals for cleaning with full training provided.
* Perform external road cleaning, empty general waste and recycling bins.
* Move furniture to allow for different activities in venues.
* Clean and disinfect toilets and changing rooms.


Cleaning Qualifications

* Minimum 18 years of age (due to lone working).
* Availability for evening shift: 5pm – 2am, with potential variation in start and finish times.
