Are you a pro-active and hard-working individual? One who is motivated to play an engaging, challenging, and critical part in our support to Navy Command’s role to generate and operate forces for today and to ensure we are ready for tomorrow by developing and delivering the Real Life Support to the UK Commando Forces(UKCF) ? Deliver logistical support for the and wider defence, Commando Logistics Regiment (CLR), Chivenor, North Devon, EX31 4AZ relies on a small team, adaptable team capable of delivering on near bank support in an often-high tempo environment, while maintaining compliance to law and MOD policy.

Navy Command provides an open, flexible, and supportive work environment and Civil Servants and Armed forces personnel work together in a wealth of interesting and challenging jobs in different disciplines, from finance, legal service; personnel and, project planning and managing contracts, to media and communications.

Depending upon experience and qualifications, the successful applicant may be required to travel and stay overnight in order to complete training vital to fulfil the role.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week

Job Description

The MT Driver is responsible to the Motor Transport Officer for delivery of all 1st line transport tasking in support of the Regiment and all 2nd line transport taskings in support of 3 Cdo Bde. They must be prepared to deliver personnel and freight to any near bank location in the UK at any time and MUST possess Driving License Cat B, C, C+E, D1 and as a desirable D (coach license), as well as an in-depth knowledge of the Highway Code.

Person specification

We are looking for applicants who will be required to deal daily with personnel within a unit therefore, needs to possess good verbal and written communication skills. We work in high pace close-knit teams, hence key personnel skills are drive, initiative and ability to organise own working day adjusting priorities as needed to support and sustain the daily running of the department. Applicants will have a wide experience on various types of vehicles and class, with the ability of carrying out before and after use checks on vehicles, planning routes, ensuring tie down schemes are adhered to and complying with driver's hours. You will also need to have a working knowledge of Road Transport policy for example highway code.

Ability to use TAFMIS and associated software or equivalent.
