Cleveland Police is inviting applications for the role of Advanced Financial Investigator within our Economic Crime Unit.
We are seeking experienced and capable individuals to lead and support investigations into money laundering, confiscation, detained cash, and financial disclosures from regulated institutions. This is a key role in disrupting criminal finances and recovering illicit assets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct complex financial investigations under POCA 2002 and associated legislation.
* Lead confiscation and civil recovery investigations under POCA Parts 2 and 5.
* Analyse financial intelligence and disclosures from financial institutions.
* Prepare case files and evidence for prosecution and court proceedings.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Demonstrable experience as a Financial Investigator, with a strong track record of handling complex cases.
* Practical working knowledge of PACE 1984, POCA 2002, and Money Laundering Regulations.
* Experience in POCA Part 2 (Confiscation) and Part 5 (Civil Recovery) investigations.
* Strong investigative and interviewing skills.
* Excellent analytical ability, particularly when handling large volumes of financial data.
* Effective communication and report writing skills.
Desirable:
* PIP Level 2 Accreditation (not essential).
* Accredited Financial Investigator status.
* Experience in partnership working across law enforcement and regulatory bodies.
* Familiarity with Force systems and digital investigation tools.

Additional Information:
* Personal Safety Training is mandatory and will be provided upon appointment.
* Fingerprints and DNA will be taken and stored on the contamination elimination database as part of contractual requirements.
