As a team, we pride ourselves on challenging and developing our Placement Students by providing exposure to the breadth of engineering within our Formula 1 and Advanced Technology divisions. You will work closely with various teams to help continually improve our Power Units. As a Materials Engineering Placement Student, you will play a key role within a team of specialist engineers, focusing on understanding the relationship between the structures we need to create and the properties of materials that support performance and manufacturing feasibility.
You will develop key materials technologies to enable continued performance and durability of the Hybrid Power Unit. The role offers autonomy to manage your own materials research and development projects, enhancing your materials characterization skills with hands-on access to a wide variety of equipment.

Application process and timeline
* Your application will be screened by HR and the hiring manager.
* If successful, you will be invited to an assessment centre scheduled between November and December 2025.
* If selected, your scheme will commence in September 2026.
Candidate profile
* Curious, tenacious, and driven individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* On track to achieve a 2.1 degree or above in Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.
* A strong academic background in relevant A-Level disciplines such as maths or sciences (or equivalent).
* An excellent understanding of engineering principles.
* Practical, hands-on experience to complement academic studies.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Self-motivated, thorough, adaptable, creative, and innovative problem-solvers.
* The courage to challenge and the desire to expand technical knowledge and skills.
