TP Tutors is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Functional Skills Tutors to provide tailored tuition in Bilsthorpe and the surrounding Nottinghamshire area. This is a fantastic opportunity to support learners in developing essential English and maths skills that will benefit them both in education and everyday life.
About the Role
As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will deliver personalised one-to-one and small-group lessons in learners’ homes, schools, or community venues. Your sessions will focus on building literacy and numeracy confidence, preparing learners for Functional Skills assessments, and helping them apply knowledge to real-world situations.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging Functional Skills tuition in English and maths (Entry Level to Level 2)
* Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs and styles
* Break down key concepts into practical, accessible learning steps
* Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback
* Comply with safeguarding and child protection policies
Requirements
* Knowledge of the Functional Skills curriculum
* Previous experience teaching or tutoring young people and/or adults
* Experience supporting learners with SEND/SEMH is desirable
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* Current safeguarding training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
