The Role
As an Outreach Tutor, you will work with students in need of tailored educational support in Maths and English. You will design and deliver lessons that cater to individual needs, building their confidence and skills in a nurturing and supportive environment.
This position may involve working with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), making experience in this area highly desirable. Your role will be pivotal in helping students who may be disengaged from traditional learning settings or require additional assistance to reach their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver one-to-one tutoring sessions in Maths and English, customized to the student’s learning requirements.
* Create engaging lesson plans to address specific learning gaps and objectives.
* Build rapport with students to foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
* Track and report on student progress, providing feedback to parents or guardians.
* Support students with diverse needs, including those with SEN, where applicable.
Requirements
* PGCE in Maths or English or QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) (essential).
* A minimum of 1 year’s teaching or tutoring experience in Maths or English.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
* Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) .
* A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to teaching.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
